BURI RAM: A man was killed after a motorycle he was driving rammed into the rear of a stationary 18-wheel truck in Muang district late on Saturday night, police said.
Janya Poonsadee, 30, the driver of the truck, told police that he parked the truck on a road side on arriving at Ban Sawai Chik on Buri Ram-Krasang road. He was taking the truck from Roi-et province to a rock-grinding factory in Buri Ram.
While he was checking the tyres, the motorcycle, which came at a high speed, rammed into the rear of the truck. The motorycle driver, identified later as Uthin Suthi, 53, was killed instantly after his head violently hit a steel bar.
Pol Capt Anuprem Nunanok, a Muang police investigator, said the police were investigating.
