Two males charged in separate Columbus homicides now in custody

Two men wanted on murder charges in separate cases are now in custody, Columbus Police homicide detectives said Monday.

Harry Lee Lathon Jr., 23, a North Linden resident, is charged with aggravated murder in the Dec. 13 shooting death of Jason Andrew Collins, 32, at a house on the Hilltop.

Lathon is accused of forcing his way into a house at 100 N. Harris Ave. around 2 a.m., going up the stairs and fatally shooting Collins along with Joseph Richard Collins, Jr., 35, who survived, court and police records show. Lathon was charged shortly after the incident occurred.

On Feb. 6, an argument just after 1 a.m. inside a house in the 500 block of East Welch Avenue led to the fatal shooting of 29-year-old Chad Edward Dunlap.

Columbus police immediately announced they were looking for Caleb Michael Kazlausky, 20, who shared the South Side residence with Dunlap. Two women had called police after the incident occurred and one of them later told police that she saw Kazlausky shoot Dunlap, court records show.
