Pedestrian in essential situation after being struck by car Downtown

A pedestrian was critically injured when struck by a vehicle Downtown Wednesday night, Columbus police said.

Police and Columbus Fire paramedics were called at 9:27 p.m. to the intersection of North Fourth and Long streets in response to calls about a person struck.

The person was taken in critical condition to a local hospital, police said. The motorist involved stopped at the scene.

A police investigation is continuing.
